Meet Dr. Junaid Afridi

I love what I do every day because I get the chance to interact with the most wonderful people from all walks of life and all ages. Whether its school, work, or sports, it’s a joy to learn about my patients and to enhance their life through orthodontics.

I consider it a privilege to transform my patients’ smiles and their confidence—confidence they can use to better their lives. I am grateful knowing that these individuals put their trust in me to help them achieve their goals. It is an honor to be working in such a wonderful profession.

I began my formal education at the College of William and Mary, earning a B.S. in Chemistry. From there, I attended the Medical College of Virginia for my Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences. I became interested in dentistry after a fortuitous decision to shadow a local dentist in my master’s program. Instantly deciding that dentistry was the right career path for me, I enrolled at New York University where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, followed by Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics for my Certificate in Orthodontics.

Our goal at Spring Cypress Kids is to make our patients’ experience one to remember. One of the many ways we do that is by utilizing some of the most innovative methods and technology in our field. Continuing education gives me the opportunity to learn the newest, cutting-edge techniques being utilized today in the field of orthodontics. As a result, it provides greater opportunities for my patients for treatment and gives me the confidence to give my patients the best smile possible.

Of course, I’m not all work and no play. My wife, Houston native Shazia, and I have three active children—one son and two daughters. When not working, I can be found spending time hanging out with the family, playing sports, and just having fun in general. I also like to fine-tune my dad jokes!
